![]() Will I notice any tangible difference between the two I am by no means an audiophile, I occasionally listen to music on my computer with a pair of Logitech ultimate ears. I'm interested in hearing (no pun intended) in your experience with the audio chipsets. I decided to try the Creative Sound Blaster Z dedicated sound card in the hope of getting better sound quality from my headphones than integrated Realtek ALC. The Z97 Gryphon supposedly has the ALC892 (169) while the Z97MX Gaming 5 will carry the ALC1150 (139), in line with most GIgabyte boards. I'm about as concerned about RGB on motherboards as I am for statistics on who at doughnuts for breakfast. Have those of you who have the ALC1220 found it superior to ALC892 codecs, justifying the higher prices for boards with the 1220? Their best quality is confirmed with THX TruStudio Pro certification. Follow scrupulously your CLEANUP process then your INSTALL process, for the next drivers packages. You need Realtek Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS3 MB) from the first post of this thread. The EAX 5.0 and OpenAL assure the hardware acceleration for 3D-games performance. Thanks SupremeFX Realtek Audio for ROG products, so SupremeFX software Realtek HD Audio Manager (HDA drivers) Realtek Audio Control (UAD drivers). The manufacturer made the perfect sound performance possible with gold-plated audio jacks and high-quality capacitors. Also, the audio quality is really based on the implementation of the audio chip. The SupremeFX III audio card will let you dip into the game. Honestly, I dare you to waste a few months listening back and forth and try to tell a difference. If not, the ALC1150 has better audio for stereo headphones on paper. I will buy a new Mini ITX motherboard and these models have different audio, even being H270 both. Yes, I realize that I could get an extra sound card, an extra this that and the other thing, but I'm on a limited budget and want to upgrade my CPU platform and my sound quality at the same time. ALC892 has better overall audio on paper if you are plugging in 5.1/7.1 speakers. Please note - these figures are not true of motherboards, but are true in general terms of how amps work. I've been leaning toward an MSI B350 Pro Carbon vs. So as you can see, the power out of the internal amp would be reduced by a lot. I would like to have a discussion regarding these two audio chipsets on AM4 motherboards.
